What printachecks is
printachecks.com ("the service") is a tool that lays out a check from details you enter and lets you print it on your own printer using blank check stock you supply. We are not a bank, a payment network or a check printer in the traditional sense. We do not move money, and a check you print is an instrument drawn on your account with your bank, exactly as if you had handwritten it.
Your account
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract.
- You are responsible for keeping your password private. Every sign-in also requires a one-time code sent to your email; keep that email account secure too.
- Each account may hold one checking account. You may only add a bank account that you own or are expressly authorized to draw checks on.
- You are responsible for everything printed from your account, including the accuracy of payee names, amounts, dates and check numbers, and for keeping your own check register.
Credits and payment
- One credit prints one check. Reprinting a check you have already printed does not use a credit.
- New accounts receive three free credits, valid for 60 days from signup. Free credits that are not used in that time expire.
- Additional credits are sold in packs (currently 10 for $5, 20 for $10 and 30 for $15). Purchased credits do not expire.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Refunds: unused purchased credits are refundable on request within 30 days of purchase. Credits already spent on printed checks are not refundable. Contact us through your account email to request one.
- We may change prices for future purchases with notice on this page; credits you have already bought keep their value.
Acceptable use
You may not use the service to print checks on an account you don't own or aren't authorized to use, to create counterfeit or fraudulent instruments, or in violation of any law. We may suspend or close accounts we reasonably believe are being used this way, and we cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement.
Bank acceptance and your responsibility
The service renders the MICR line and check layout to the ANSI X9.100-160 standard and validates routing numbers against the ABA checksum. Whether a given check is accepted is ultimately decided by the depositing and paying banks and depends on factors we don't control, including your printer, paper and toner. You should print a test on plain paper, compare it to a check from your bank, and deposit a small check before relying on the service. We are not responsible for returned items, bank fees, or losses arising from a rejected check.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely we will give at least 30 days' notice by email and refund unused purchased credits.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses.
Closing your account
You can remove your bank account at any time from your account page. To close your account entirely, contact us from your account email; we will delete your bank details and personal information as described in the Privacy Policy.
